AN EAST Leake-based firm has donated £10,000 to the Loughborough charity, Living Without Abuse (LWA).

The public relations and marketing agency, Arch Communications, handed over the generous gift on Monday, which was the first day of the nationally recognised week dedicated to raising awareness of Sexual Abuse and Sexual Violence.

LWA provides support to men and women experiencing domestic abuse across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.

In 2018 they helped 637 survivors of sexual abuse and violence, some 149 were children under 18.

The charity’s services include refuge accommodation, a helpline, and high-risk crisis support. They also offer counselling and a perpetrator programme.

Arch Communications is a social enterprise operating across the East Midlands and nationally. The LWA support brings Arch’s total contribution to local good causes to more than £130,000 since the company launched in 2011. That’s made up of both profit-sharing and pro bono work.

Arch Communications founder and director Matt Youdale said: “We are proud to be sponsoring and promoting the work of Living Without Abuse. The charity’s work is a lifeline for anyone suffering abuse or anyone affected by it.

“This donation is part of our whole business ethos which is to provide high-quality PR and mar- keting services, so that we can invest in our community. That’s something we’re very proud of.”

The firm is also committed to promoting the charity’s work and encouraging others to support their many events throughout the year so they can continue to improve the lives of abuse survivors.

Debbie Hughes, chief executive officer at Living Without Abuse said: “Living Without Abuse believes all people have the right to live safely and without fear of violence and abuse of any kind.

“We are committed to raising awareness of domestic abuse in all its forms: working towards its prevention and eradication and assisting those affected by this crime to determine their own lives. Every penny we raise for the event really does make a difference to people’s lives.

“Arch Communications’ donation will be used for sponsoring all our events across the year. Like any charity, we rely heavily on our own fund-raising efforts to finance our work. The donation will ensure that more of the money raised by LWA can go directly into their crucial frontline work.”

LWA do still need other sponsors. Sponsorship starts from as little as £25, to support this charity and help change someone’s life.
