Bottom Railway BA open up eight point lead at top of table

MITCH Gregory hit a new high finish of 161 for Spot On MP as they beat second place Bull and Bush Lions 8-1 in Blue Ball Division One of the Loughborou­gh and District Pubs & Clubs Darts League last week. Steve Hopkins also hit a 145 finish for Spot On in the ‘Lions’ biggest defeat for many a season.

With the Royal Oak Shooters also losing to their pub rivals Royal Oak DP, leaders Bottom Railway BA open up an eight point lead at the top of the division. Luke Askew hit his fifth maximum of the season and Daz Healy his first for the Royal Oak DP as they beat ‘ The Shooters’ 5-4 in a rehearsal for the Cup game between the two this week. Andy Wooldridge hit his second maximum in as many weeks for Champs AW as they narrowly lost to the leaders Bottom Railway BA, and Dave Cox hit a maximum for Barrow Cons Wagg’s Gang as they beat the Three Crowns Spookies 5-4. At the bottom of the table the Spot On Waif and Strays won their second game of the season as they beat the Bull and Bush B 7-2.

In Wanty’s Division Two Chris Northage hit a maximum for leaders Royal Oak Bluemoon Foxes as they beat the Old English Gentleman 5&4’s 7-2. Second place Spot On Reds beat the Bull and Bush Gatecrashe­rs 8-1 and close the gap on the leaders to four points and third place Blacksmith­s Exiles won 6-3 against the Spot On Rejects and are a further five points adrift.

In S H Cox Division Three leaders Crown Rejects did not play but are still two points ahead of the Three Nuns Albion, who beat their local rivals Three Nuns Right Footers 5-4, and the Bull and Bush Laughing Boys who beat the Spot On Guy ‘n’ Gals 7-2.

In Generous Briton Division Four only three points now separate the top three teams after leaders Black Swan BWA lost 5-4 to the Generous Briton Beer Legs, and the Plough B and Royal Oak Old Uns in second and third place both won.

Finally in Jim Kidger Division Five the Blacksmith­s Hammers beat the Rose and Crown Rockets 7-2 in the top of the table clash and join them on the same points at the top of the division. Blue Ball JLA are third three points behind the leaders after their 7-2 win against Bottom Railway CS.
