Comedy by Mel Brooks is heading to the Town Hall

-

THE award-winning LAOS are back at Loughborough Town Hall next week with Mel Brooks’ brilliant comedy The Producers.

A smash hit on Broadway, the West End and in Hollywood, The Producers is glitzy, glamorous, politically incorrect and downright hilarious, as Broadway gets the full satirical treatment in true Mel Brooks style.

Can down-on-his-luck producer Max Bialystock and timid accountant/wannabe producer Leo Bloom really pull off the scam of the century and make £2m dollars from Springtime For Hitler - the worst show ever written?

It’s got the worst director, the worst cast and a writer who is a neo-Nazi nutcase.

It’ll close in minutes, what could possibly go wrong?

Well, throw a Swedish blonde bombshell, a crazy theatre production team, some screwball Nazis, some ‘Irish’ cops, Churchill, Stalin, Roosveldt and a pigeon called Hilda and find out just exactly how hilariously wrong a bonkers scheme can go.

Enhancing the jokes even more is an inspired score with numbers like Springtime for Hitler, Along Came Bialy, When You’ve Got It, Flaunt It, King of Broadway, ‘Til Him, Betrayed, Haben Sie Gehort Das Deutsche Band, Guten Tag Hop Clop and Prisoners of Love.

You’ll never believe the Fuhrer could be so funny.

Starring Jez Malpas, Josh Hill, Sarah Heptinstall, Matt Leeson, Mark Chinnery, Cameron Sim and Linda Adlam, plus a host of popular LAOS regulars, the show is at the Town Hall from Tuesday, March 5, to Saturday, March 9, at 7.30pm each night, plus a Saturday matinee at 2.30pm.

Tickets are available from the box office on 01509 231914 or online at www.loughboroughtownhall.co.uk/events/2019/03/05/the_producers
