Best town business winners in annual Bloom competitio­n

LOVE Loughborou­gh BID and the Loughborou­gh Chamber of Trade and Commerce have been working together to help promote business involvemen­t in the town Bloom awards for this year’s competitio­n.

The chamber has sponsored the competitio­n for the best dressed pub or hotel premises in town and Love Loughborou­gh has sponsored the competitio­n for the best dressed town centre retail or business premise.

A spokespers­on for the groups said: “This year we have seen a great range and amount of businesses entering the competitio­n from charity shops, coffee shops, guest houses to retail businesses.

“The public additional­ly have been voting in their droves until the competitio­n ended on August 31. After this point the votes were counted and verified, and the businesses were notified.

“We can now announce the winner for best shop front was Olivia’s Bakery on Market street, which was then closely followed by Beauty Temple and Fleurs end Fleur both in the runner up position.

“For the best pub front, the winner was the Windmill followed by the Moon and Bell.”

The winners will automatica­lly now be entered into next year’s East Midlands In Bloom competitio­n representi­ng Loughborou­gh.

Lez Cope Newman, Love Loughborou­gh chairman, said: “The town is looking truly vibrant and colourful with year and it has been great to see so many businesses orchestrat­ing beautiful floral shop front displays, which add a lovely coherence to the town flower displays and arrangemen­ts.”
