THE NIGHT CAFE

-

How would you describe your sound?

We would describe the sound of our current releases as quite alternative and heavy bangers.

What and who inspires your music?

There are lots of things that inspire our music, not just other artists. We base our writing off trying to capture feelings within the music so, I don’t know, like things even as simple as having a good/bad day can inspire the music we make. But in terms of musicians, we all listen to a big variety between us, lots of hip hop and R&B influences and then lots of shoegaze, posthardcore music as well. Artists like, Title Fight, Wild Nothing, Kanye West, Bon Iver are a few examples.

How does it feel finally having your debut album out?

Feels quite surreal to be honest, something we have worked so hard for is finally out for the public to see and critique which can be quite nerve-wracking but we are all really proud of what we have created and as long as we are happy with it then that’s all that matters! Just such a good feeling overall though.

Tells us a little about the album

0151 is the first time we have ever tried to make a huge work of art rather than just a collection of single-worthy songs. As far as writing the album went it all felt really natural, even piecing it together track by track was too. It just felt like it completely captured our lives whilst making it.

What do you like most about touring?

Just being able to play our songs to crowds that enjoy our music is enough. There’s no feeling like it especially when they sing the lyrics back to you. It’s just mad, we love it.

What can people expect from your upcoming Nottingham gig?

Heavy bangers and a good time.

Do you have any good memories of performing in the city previously?

Yeah! The Bodega. We sold that out two times on the bounce and had our very first stage invasion there. Something we will never forget.
