Talking about tea...
A NICE Cup of Tea - A Potted History of Tea is the title of a talk taking place at Bradgate Park.
The British answer to any problem or crisis is often a cup of tea! If you have had a shock or an upset someone will make you a nice cup of tea. But how did the British love affair with tea start?
It is a fascinating tale of adventure, taxes, criminality, temperance, rationing and a morale booster in WWI and WWII and of a Duchess who established the ritual of afternoon tea.
The talk takes place in the Deer Barn Meeting Room at the park in Newtown Linford on February 7 at 11am.
Pre-booking is essential for this event as places are limited.
Tickets are £5 per place and can also be booked from the Visitor Centre or by calling 0116 236 2713 extension 25 between 11am and 3.30pm.
