‘Suspicious’ man has been identified

POLICE have provided an update following a warning of a suspicious male in a Mercedes trying house doors and peering into windows on Nanpantan Road in Loughborough.

Sergeant Road Smart said: “Following this alert being sent out, a resident has contacted the Police with footage of the man and his vehicle from their doorbell CCTV.

“The local beat officer (PC Martindale) has made enquiries into the vehicle and it has turned out that the man was a legitimate delivery driver who was trying to find an address. We have confirmed his account.

“Although this time it was a false alarm, we are grateful for the information and rely on such information and vigilance from local residents to prevent and solve crime.”
