Whitewash win for the Spot On Waifs and Strays

TONY Spencer hit his second maximum of the season for the Bull and Bush Lions as they beat the Three Nuns Bluemoon Foxes 7-2 to retain second place in Blue Ball Division One of the Loughborou­gh and District Pubs & Clubs Darts League.

Leaders Bottom Railway BA did not play so the big game in the division saw fourth place Royal Oak Shooters beat third place Barrow Cons Wagg’s Gang 5-4 and as a result the two teams swap places. Doug Porter hit two maximums for his Royal Oak DP side as they were beaten 5-4 by the Three Crowns Spookies and Doug now joins Dave Cox on four maximums for the season and they lead the field in the race for the ‘Most maximums in the season trophy for division one’. In the only other game in the division Rose and Crown AW won for a second week as they beat the Ring ‘o’ Bells SH 6-3.

In Wanty’s Division Two Cameron Bain hit a maximum for the Spot On Waifs & Strays as they whitewashe­d the Three Nuns Albion 9-0. They now lead the division by three points from the Crown Rejects, for whom Neil McHugh hit a maximum in their 5-4 win against Fat Sam’s 26er’s, and the Rose & Crown Exiles who beat the Spot On Reds 6-3.

In S H Cox Division Three the Spot On Guys ‘n’ Gals take over at the top after they beat the Bull and Bush B in a top of the table clash. The Bull and Bush drop down to second with the Black Swan JS who lost 5-4 to the Royal Oak Old Uns in third place.

In Generous Briton Division Four leaders the Fennel Street Clubbers beat the Dewdrop Blues 6-3 to continue their impressive run, whilst in second place the Three Nuns Right Footers narrowly beat third place Windmill Wild Hearts 5-4.

Finally in Jim Kidger Division Five the OEG Sambuca’s beat the leaders OEG Luffs 7-2 so the Windmill CD become the seventh team to top the division this winter after their 6-3 win against Bottom Railway CS.
