LOUGHBOROUGH swimmers Max Litchfield, Georgia Davies and Imogen Clark have helped Energy Standard lift the inaugural International Swimming League crown at the grand final in Las Vegas.

The Energy Standard team was up against American teams LA Current and Cali Condors and a London Roar squad which featured Loughborough swimmers Adam Peaty, Siobhan-Marie O’Connor and Sarah Vasey.

It was London Roar who led for most of the final at the Mandalay Bay Events Centre, but the whole season was decided in the final skins races, which carry a heavy points weighting.

The skins, swam over 50m Freestyle, saw only four of the eight swimmers in each race return for the second round, with the field then halved again for the final. It was fast and furious, but Energy Standard did enough to take the title on 453.5 points, withnn London Road in second on 444 points.

Adam Peaty was a key player for London Roar, producing a business like performance to blow away the rest of the field in the Men’s 100m Breaststroke and get second place in the 50m breaststroke.

For the champions, Energy Standard, Max Litchfield came third in the 400m freestyle and 400m IM,

Imogen Clark was third in the Women’s 50m Breaststroke and Georgia Davies also finished third in the 50m Backstroke.
