Uni Q&A session gives tips on building a career
LOUGHBOROUGH University alumni Andy Hodge returned to the campus to take part in a Q&A session with students.
He discussed his role as UK managing partner of Tax at Deloitte (2011-2016), with tips on how to build a successful career.
The alumnus began his professional career in 1987 with Andersen, where he focused on expatriate tax. After six years he relocated to the Birmingham office to build and lead the expat part of the business. He became a partner and in 2002 arrived at Deloitte when the firm combined with Andersen’s UK operation.
Andy held one of the most senior roles in the ‘big four’ firms, leading a team of over 2,500 and holding responsibility for strategy and performance of the UK tax practice.
The alumnus, who graduated with a degree in economics in 1987, moved into consultancy in 2016 and now runs his own business.
Andy answered a range of questions from the students, including on working at Deloitte, advice on leadership, building professional rapports and interview guidance
