Warning given about road closures

MOTORISTS are being advised to plan ahead for numerous road closures when a sporting event takes place near Prestwold Hall in Loughborough.

Leicestershire County Council Highways has agreed to a temporary traffic regulation order for the Leicestershire Half Marathon, which is taking place at the hall on Sunday, February 23.

Road closures are required on the following roads: Burton Lane, from Melton Road to Hoton Road; Hoton Road/ Wymeswold Road, from junction of London Road to Loughborough Road; Prestwold Lane, from the junction with Loughborough Road to B676; Vine Tree Terrace, for its entire length; Old Parsonage Lane, for its entire length.

Temporary parking restrictions are required on the following roads: Vine Tree Terrace, on both sides of the carriageway from Rempstone Road to about number 125; Loughborough Road, on both sides of the carriageway 100m either side of Gate 2.

The restrictions will be in force from 8.30am until noon.

Leicestershire County Council apologises for any inconvenience caused during the event.
