Hospice celebrates £5,000 boost from eBay

-

RAINBOWS Hospice for Children and Young People has scooped a £5,000 donation from eBay.

The retailers launched the competition, @eBay4CharityUK, last year asking charities to tell them of their favourite item sold on eBay. Rainbows’ favourite item was a model boat of the H.M.S Victory – a rare kit that isn’t made anymore. It sold for £255.

eBay loved the item so much, it gave £5,000 to Rainbows, which cares for children and young people with life-limiting illnesses.

Kay Taylor, Rainbows eBay manager, said: “It is wonderful for us to benefit from a share of money raised by the UK community and we are honoured to be selected. Our eBay site is a great source of income for us and I would like to thank all of our supporters who buy things from the site.”
