Balcony planned for the airport

A TOTAL of 290,499 passengers passed through East Midlands Airport during 1969.

The figure was up from 1968’s total of 253,650. The Echo reported that alterations to the terminal building were set to provide a restaurant, a cafe and a bar.

A large waiting area was also being provided and a balcony to enable passengers to be waved off by friends and relatives.
