A TOTAL of 3,958 adults and 1,753 children visited Loughborough’s war memorial Carillon during the period from January to September 1969, according to a report by the parks superintendent, Mr T S Stapleford.
He also reported that out of the borough’s 556 allotment plots, 496 had tenants. More than half the 87 untenanted plots were on the Mountfields site.
He also gave figures for the Derby Road playing fields where there was 333 games of soccer, 52 hockey, 14 rugby and 88 cricket.
