Hastings House entrance
DAVID Neal has been in touch to identify the entrance to Loughborough’s Hasting House from our Echo photo archive collection.
The former workhouse, which later became an old people’s home and hospital was in Regent Street.
David says that the picture (below) was taken from inside the complex with the hospital on the right and the old people’ home on the left.
Pictured left is another view of Regent Street taken in the late 1950s.
Regular Looking Back contributor Mike Jones previously identified photo saying: “To the right of the photo in the distance, you can just be seen the main entrance to, what would then have been Hastings House, still known to locals, as the workhouse.”
