BETVICTOR NORTHERN PREMIER LEAGUE DIVISION ONE EAST LOUGHBOROUGH DYNAMO 1

NEWCASTLE TOWN 0 LOUGHBOROUGH Dynamo striker Karl Demidh scored a dramatic last-minute goal to beat Newcastle Town 1-0 at the ADT Stadium.

The Moes number nine managed to steal all three points in the 90th minute turning a forgettable, windy match of football into a memorable day for Dynamo fans.

The visitors created the first chance of the game courtesy of Charlie Scott. The midfielder unleashed an accurate low shot which was equally matched by Jason Alexander.

Dynamo responded with an opportunity of their own when a looping Charlie Young header was dramatically tipped over the bar by Rajaan Gill.

Karl Demidh had a weak halfvolley attempt saved in the 38th minute following Rob Norris’ creative flick to the Dynamo number nine.

Minutes into the second half, the Moes had the best opportunity of the game so far. Will Norcross cut in from the right and fired a 20 yard strike off of the crossbar, unfortunately for Dynamo, the ball didn’t cross the line and was eventually scrambled away by Newcastle Town.

Newcastle’s Micheal Conlon managed to create space in the box to get a shot away, but the effort was tame and collected by Alexander easily.

Just as it looked like the game was about to end in a dreary goalless draw, Karl Demidh became the hero.

Alexander caught the ball from a Newcastle Town corner and immediately kicked it long to Demidh. The prolific Dynamo number nine managed to outstrength two opposing defenders and found himself in a one on one situation, and the striker did not disappoint. Demidh calmly slotted the ball into the opposite bottom corner and reeled away celebrating just as the clock turned onto the 90-minute mark.

As the full-time whistle blew seconds later, the ADT Stadium erupted in a mix of ecstasy and relief.

The game may have been a poor, windy affair, but all that matters to Lee Attenborough’s men is that they left the pitch with three wellearned points.
