County joy for town swim club
LOUGHBOROUGH Town Swimming Club secured a total of 28 medals at the second weekend of the Leicestershire & Rutland County Championships.
In total the team clinched eight golds, 11 silver and nine bronze medals in a very successful weekend for the Club.
Elizabeth Palfrey (12 yrs age group) won gold in 800m freestyle and 200m backstroke, silver in the 400m Individual Medley and bronze in the 50m Backstroke. Willem Muddimer (15 years) took gold in 200m breaststroke and 200m butterfly and bronze in the 100m butterfly plus junior bronze in all three events and bronze in the 100m Individual Medley.
Abbie Ruddle (16 years & over) won silver in the 50m butterfly and 400m Individual Medley and bronze in the 50m Backstroke. while Sean McCann (15) - gold in the 200m backstroke and 100m butterfly plus Junior Champion in both.
Others medals came from Finlay Gibson (12) - silver in the 100m Individual Medley, 200m backstroke and 200m breaststroke. James Lake (13) - silver in the 100m butterfly and bronze in the 200m breaststroke. Navin Sae-Sue (15) - silver in the 200m breaststroke. Millie Randle (16+) - silver in the 50m backstroke. Sandy Jarvis - silver in the 200m breaststroke. Darell Yeoh - silver in the 200m breaststroke and Amelie McCann - bronze in 50m backstroke.
Other Town results: 4th places: Francesca Palfrey and Amelie McCann - 800m freestyle, Milllie Randle - 50m freestyle, Sandy Jarvis - 100m butterfly, James Lake - 200m butterfly, Will Stone, Thomas Macmanard and Jack Goldfinch - 200m backstroke and Navin Sae-Sue - 100 IM. 5th places: Harrison Cook - 200m backstroke, Finn Reed - 200m breaststroke, Sandy Jarvis - 200m butterfly, Thomas Macmanard - 100m Individual Medley, Millie Randle - 100m freestyle and Abbie Ruddle - 50m freestyle. 6th places: Mia Larke - 100m freestyle, Jasper Ley-Sneyd - 100m IM and 200m breaststroke and Alfie Molloy - 100 IM. 7th places: Bhavesh Parmessur - 200m breaststroke and 100m IM, Josh LeySneyd – 100m butterfly, Elizabeth Palfrey - 100m freestyle and Abbie Ruddle - 200m backstroke.
Other swimmers that represented Loughborough Town this weekend were Felix Jarvis, Oscar Brown, George Larke, Ella Fairey, Amelia Johnston, Erin Harvey, Eva Hopper, Lois Buxton, Catherine Yates, Niamh Muddimer, Sophie Moechel, Hattie Smith and Leo Moechel.
