College celebrates a record breaking year
LOUGHBOROUGH College is celebrating a record-breaking year ahead of one of the country’s largest sporting events.
After months of fierce competition and being crowned East Midlands Champions across no fewer than 11 events in ten sports, the College will line up with winners from across the UK for the 2020 Association of Colleges Sport National Championships.
Sport academies from Loughborough College will be sending regional team champions for women’s rugby, men’s rugby, men’s football, women’s volleyball, netball and cricket to the competition.
Individual sports will be represented by fellow East Midlands champions Jessica Allen for women’s badminton, Harry Worrad for men’s tennis, Millie Mae Matthews for women’s tennis, Kieran Coleman-Smith for men’s cross country and Rosie Timlock for women’s cross country.
The East Midlands Hockey Squad will feature Loughborough College students Will Parsons, Gabby Lucas, Joshua Kennaugh, Grace Clarke and Aaron Viggers.
Individual qualifiers from the College include Dempsey Mayne in men’s tennis, Naiara Idiakez and Evie Parkes in women’s tennis, Annabelle Dixon in women’s table tennis and Sam Marsh and Jack Surgay for men’s cross country.

“It’s a record-breaking year for the college - we will be competing in more sports than ever before! It’s a testament to the students and coaches who have worked tirelessly in their sports.”
The Association of Colleges Sport 2020 National Championships will take place in April at the University of Nottingham.
