LOUGHBOROUGH Men’s 3rd XI travelled to Derby to play bottom side Ramgarhia Men’s 1st XI, looking to end their losing streak.

With a few players returning from injury Town’s spirits were high, and that they could get back to winning ways.

The home started the better of the two sides, and has been in recent weeks Town went down a goal first. A short corner routine was well converted by Ramgarhia.

Town continued to struggle to get into the game, as they kept getting blown up for fouls. The home side pressed on this advantage of possession to double their lead.

Town then picked up their first yellow card of the game but held firm.

Starting to play better hockey in the last ten minutes of the half Town were rewarded with two goals to make it 2-2 at halftime.

Full of confidence for the second half Town went out knowing if they played to their game plan a result was in sight.

Unfortunately that wasn’t too be. The start of the second half was pretty much a stalemate with both sides having chances. Ramgarhia eventually broke the deadlock from open play to take a 3-2 lead. They then doubled their lead as Town chased the equaliser.

Town’s chances of getting back into the game were further hampered when they picked up a second yellow card.

When returning to a full complement they couldn’t make an indent into the score line.

So a disappointing 4-2 loss, which extends the losing streak to five games. Another tough game next for Town as second place Derwent visit Loughborough.
