Deda has something for everyone this spring
DEDA has a packed family programme going into spring, with dance, music, shows, workshops and parties from now until April.
In fact, there’s everything from operas, to Kathak to hip-hop dance!
■ ■Gently beginning the programme is interactive baby show Meet Me A Tree presented by Hurly Burly in February half-term.
Hurly Burly return with this magical interactive multi-sensory experience for 0-2 year olds and their grown-ups featuring music by Delibes, Schumann and Monteverdi mixed with well-loved nursery rhymes.
Taking place at Déda on Friday, February 21, at 11am, 1pm and 3pm. Tickets: £8 adult and £6 children.
■ ■The Little Prince brings to life Antoine de SaintExupéry’s world-famous story of friendship through dance, humour and spoken word.
The Little Prince is presented by Luca Silvestrini’s Protein and will take place at Déda on Saturday, February 22, at 6pm and Sunday, February 23, at 11am and 3pm. Recommended for ages 5+. Tickets: £8.
■ ■Heading into March, Same, Same… But Different, will be performed by Birminghambased Sonia Sabri Company. Blending Kathak, hip-hop, and contemporary dance the performance explores individuality, diversity and the bonds that connect us all.
After the show, join the cast for a Kathak, hip-hop, and contemporary dance workshop. Catch the show on Saturday, March 28, at 11am followed by a workshop with the cast at 12.30pm. Recommended for ages 5+. Performance tickets: £8. Workshop tickets: £8 adult and £6 children. Ticket deal: £14 per ticket to stay for the performance and workshop.
■ ■CUBE Café’s Dinky Disco has some Easter treats lined up for Thursday, April 9, from 2pm-4pm. Tickets: £5. There’s free face painting or a free game with every ticket, this mini rave for littles ones and their grown-ups will feature a live DJ, dancing and creative crafts.
