Manor Farm launches first ever maize maze!

- BECKY JONES

AN EAST Leake farm has just launched its first ever maize maze - and it sounds like an ideal weekend activity to enjoy with the family.

The new maze has been opened by Manor Farm Park and Woodlands at East Leake, near Loughborough, and is included in the price of your entry ticket.

The two acres of maize have been sown in the shape of letters, which are only visible from above.

The challenge for visitors is to work out what letter they are walking through as they go around the maze, and figure out the secret phrase!

To ensure social distancing, Manor Farm is asking visitors to leave at least one minute between families entering the maze.

The number of daily visitors to the farm park is also being limited, and will be until at least until the end of the school summer holidays.

The farm park is hoping that the maize maze will last until October, and the plan going forward is to make it an annual attraction from July to October.

Manor Farm Park and Woodlands - which is home to more than 20 types of animals - is open seven days a week this summer, until August 31.

Visitors must book in advance online, as places are limited due to social distancing.

All paying children who visit the farm during August will be given a free child’s pass to return again (one free child per paying adult on the return) before the end of August 2020.

Tickets are available until midnight the day before visiting. Prices are: Adult £8.30, child 2-17 £7.45, family of four £28.00.

Activities not currently available due to social distancing are animal petting, donkey rides, owl holding, the indoor play barn and rides on Ernie the milk float.
