Cllr Carys Thomas Boundary Review of the Ward Boundaries in Rushcliffe. First stage is to look at the sizes and number of electorates each ward member represents. Leake Ward coming out high and quite likely will equalise the numbers, it may be suggested that Normanton moves from Leake Ward to

Sutton Bonington Ward. If you have a view it is worth expressing it.

ST JAMES’ CHURCH, NORMANTON ON SOAR - NEW COVID RULES. The St James’ PCC (Parochial Church Council) would like to express our massive appreciation for the huge support we have had to keep open recently and amongst others, the help of Michael Knight, Mary Essex and Jan Bonser that has enabled us to do so. However, we have thought long and hard about our ongoing services and with the recent and stricter COVID-19 measures, we sadly feel that we need to cease Sunday services for the time being.

Thanks to the team of church ‘openers’ and ‘closers,’ we will continue to be open every day of the week between 10am and 4pm for private prayer and contemplation though. Many thanks to all those who keep the church clean and welcoming. We do our best to make the church as safe as we can and are really encouraged to see how much it is used; for example, the numbers of candles being lit by visitors as they take time to enjoy the peace and quiet of St James’. When visiting the church, please note the following: at either side of the porch, we have put the Test & Trace QR code so if you have the app on your phone, you can open it and point it to the QR code to log your attendance. Please don’t forget to use the sanitiser, wear your mask, and keep your distance. Anyone who visits the church and later suspects that they may have COVID-19, should please phone Brian Archbold (07850 414158). Do also remember that you can visit the website of St Mary’s, East Leake (eastleakechurch. org) to attend their online services from your own home.
