Family supermarket will be better than ever after makeover

-

A FOUR-WEEK programme of redevelopment is underway at a family-run convenience store in Quorn.

Father and son team, Paul and Jack Matthews, are making the changes to the Bradley’s Supermarket, in Station Road, throughout February.

The project started out as an expansion of the refrigeration area in the 2,600 sq ft store but it has now grown into a full refurbishment with new flooring, ceiling and store layout, including moving the front entrance and adding a kitchen.

Jack said: “We initially looked at making a few changes to the refrigeration and the bakery area but when we started looking at what we really wanted to achieve we realised the time was right to make some real changes.”

The father and son duo want to build on their fresh and chilled offering, with the number of chilled bays to increase from seven to 14.

This will provide more space to extend their Co-op range as well as to add more products from local suppliers including meal deals from the local butchers.

Jack said: “We are installing the premium Cook freezer products which will really add something to our range and we’ve also built a kitchen and will be producing our own branded Bradley’s sandwiches, wraps, fruit pots and so on in store.

“We have identified what our unique selling points are and have worked hard on them and we are now really looking forward to the new challenge – we just want to get the store completed and start trading.”

The new look shop will relaunch by the end of the month.
