Donations on admission, but to ensure we are socially distanced and for Track and Trace we will need you to book your tickets. purchased by Nottingham City Transport (NCT)and it has been an important operating base for NCT since that time.

A decision was made to close the Gotham depot as part of NCT’s post-Covid recovery plan.

Its closure was marked with the return of an original South Notts Bus in its familiar blue colour and a donation of historic documents to the Nottinghamshire Archives.

The South Notts name and service continues between Nottingham, Gotham, East Leake and Loughborough with the Gotham based buses and employees transferring to the NCT’s Trent Bridge Garage.

Bus services which currently run on a seven-day basis will not be affected.

To commemorate the 95-year history of Gotham Garage, the last new bus purchased by South Notts prior to NCT’s takeover in 1991 visited Gotham on its last operation day along with Chris Dabell, one of the grandchildren of the founder of the company.

The familiar garage clock, memorial benches and timeline will join the employees and buses at their new home at Trent Bridge.

To mark the Gotham Garage’s long history a commemorative book is to be published and will be available for sale.
