Return of fun day is sure to be a big hit with families
CRICKET CLUB LAYS ON FREE BANK HOLIDAY ENTERTAINMENT
LEICESTERSHIRE County Cricket Club’s annual family fun day will be offering free bank holiday entertainment next Monday.
Put on ice last year under lockdown restrictions, the event is traditionally a popular one.
As well as seeing day one of the team’s LV=County Championship game with Kent, visitors will be able to enjoy a range of activities at the Uptonsteel County Ground, Grace Road.
Professional coaching staff will be running sessions for children to try out and learn new cricket skills. A bouncy castle, face painting and arts and crafts activities will also be on offer between 11am and 4pm.
There will be a Find a Fox treasure hunt with prizes up for grabs and a wide range of food and drink options will be available.
The Friends of Grace Road will be inside the Bennett Bar serving homemade cakes during the afternoon, and there will be an ice cream van and a sweet stall at the ground throughout the day.
Club CEO Sean Jarvis said: “We are thrilled to have an opportunity to open our doors once again to the local community to come along to our ever-popular annual family fun day.
“I’d encourage our neighbours and the wider community of Leicestershire to have a great day out on us.
“You’ll experience the unique matchday experience here at the Uptonsteel County Ground with a range of fantastic family activities as well.
“We can’t wait to welcome everybody to the ground again.”
Only e-tickets will be scanned on entry for fast-track access to the ground.
If you do not claim your tickets in advance, to comply with government guidelines, you will be required to scan in via the NHS Track and Trace App or complete a contact data form upon entry.
