A man has admitted stabbing his best friend to death in an attack during which he inflicted 39 separate injuries.

Kaylon Wilson, 21, pleaded guilty to murdering 24-year-old Connor Black in a flat in Syston in February this year.

A judge at Leicester Crown Court told Wilson he faces a life sentence for the brutal killing.

Connor had asked to stay over at Wilson’s home in St Columba Way on the evening of the tragedy, Saturday, February 27, police said.

Wilson turned violent and carried out the attack on his friend, stabbing him repeatedly in the neck and chest.

Wilson then called another person and sent them a message admitting what he had done.

That person then called the police. In a statement yesterday, the force said: “Inquiries with the caller found that Wilson had sent them a message on social media stating he had stabbed someone.

“This led officers to the property at St Columba Way, where Wilson answered the door and admitted to officers he had stabbed Connor.

“Wilson had blood on his arms and hands. He told police he had put Connor into a suitcase

“Connor was found upstairs inside the property and had suffered multiple stab wounds.”

Connor was taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre, Nottingham, but died a short time later.

The police statement continued: “He was found to have suffered 39 sharp force injuries in the attack.

“Wilson was initially arrested at the scene of the incident on suspicion of attempted murder.

“Following the death of Connor, Wilson was re-arrested on suspicion of murder.

“While in custody, Wilson continually stated to officers that he had killed Connor.

“A full investigation was carried out and Wilson was interviewed and later charged with Connor’s murder.”

He appeared in the crown court to formally enter his plea. Judge Timothy Spencer told him: “You have pleaded guilty to the most serious offence in the criminal law. “You know that, don’t you?” Wilson replied that he understood.

The judge continued: “I will be sentencing you to life imprisonment. That is the law. You know that, don’t you?”

Again, Wilson replied: “Yes.” Wilson, who is being held at HMP Leicester, will appear at the same court for sentencing on Friday,

October 1.

Detective Inspector Kenny Henry said: “This was an extremely traumatic case with very distressing circumstances.

“Wilson had known Connor and his family for a large part of his life and so the circumstances of this incident and the investigation have been extremely difficult and distressing for both the family of Connor and of Wilson.

“My thoughts are very much with them and I would like to thank them for their co-operation throughout as we worked to establish the full circumstances of this case.”
