Ingles clinch first league win in seven matches

INGLES picked up a first league win in seven after beating Blackstones 4-1 at The Dovecote.
Two goals from top scorer Billy Clarke, one from captain Dean Copson and a first for Luke Savage were enough to see off Blackstones.
The game started with Ingles in the ascendency and looking dangerous with Rawson and Yousuf combining well down the left. Ingles took the lead after the ball fell to captain Dean Copson around 25 yards out and his left foot strike flew past the keeper into the far corner.
To Blackstone’s credit they were always a threat going froward on the break, with some lively forwards. This is where their equaliser came from after 15 minutes. A long diagonal ball out to the right let them in and a shot fired from the edge of the box seemed to take a deflection and wrong foot Webb in the goal and the half ended all square at 1-1.
The second half began with Ingles dominating the ball but Blackstones remaining a credible threat on the break.
On 58 minutes, one of these breaks gave the game’s big incident. Centre back Josh Rock brought the striker down in what was a deserved yellow card, however, in the aftermath and arguments Rock pushed the Blackstones player and it was no surprise when a second yellow was handed out to Rock and Ingles were down to 10 men.
But just two minutes after the sending off Billy Clarke reacted to the keeper spilling the ball to poke home and give Ingles the lead and a player reshuffle saw Ingles soak up any Blackstone attacks fairly comfortably.
With Blackstones pressing forward, Ingles were getting joy on the break and a cross from Rawson found the head of Clarke who powered a header from 12 yards out past the keeper to make it 3-1.
Ingles killed the game five minutes from the end when the tireless Savage broke into the box and fired the loose ball past the keeper to secure a 4-1 win.
