LOUGHBOROUGH‘S Rainbow Hospice has praised a local developer after receiving a £1,000 donation.

Redrow East Midlands presented The Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People with a cheque as part of its community fund.

The housebuilder said it is committed to creating and supporting communities. The funds will help the charity provide care to families and children impacted by lifelimiting conditions.

Emily Wright, Corporate Partnerships Fundraiser of Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People, said: “We are really thankful for Redrow’s donation as we are the only hospice for children and young people in the East Midlands.

“It is crucial that we receive funds to continue providing care to families. Our team are there for families when they need us the most, but we couldn’t do our work without the kindness of local businesses and individuals. It will really make a difference to the lives of those in need.” Follow InYourArea’s Facebook page for the latest national headlines The support means the hospice can provide end of life care, symptom management, short breaks and respite care and support parents and siblings through bereavements.

“I’d like to express my appreciation to everyone at the hospice for all their hard work. For many, it’s been a difficult 18 months. For those living with life-limiting illnesses, the challenges have been even greater.

“We hope that by supporting such an important community service, we can make things a little bit easier, and we look forward to continuing to build upon our relationship with the hospice in the future.” The donation forms part of Redrow East Midland’s Community Fund, which will see the housebuilder donate a total of £5,000 to local organisations throughout 2021.
