Winter darts league set to start with 36 teams battling for glory
THE Loughborough & District Pubs & Clubs Darts League returns on Thursday (October 21) with the start of the 2021/22 Winter league.
This season there will be four divisions sponsored by The Bull & Bush Shepshed, The Spot on Loughborough, The Three Nuns Loughborough and The Generous Briton Loughborough respectively.
There is a total of 36 teams from 19 pubs and clubs in the area making up Divisions of nine teams in Division One and Four, 10 in Division Two and eight in Division Three.
Accompanying the league will be The Knockout Cup and the draw for this will take place on Thursday November 4 at the Spot on and games the Preliminary Round will take place on Thursday, November 18.
Alongside this Division 2-4 teams knocked out at this stage and the first round will automatically be entered into The Knockout Shield which will be played on the same night as The Cup fixtures.
At the end of the season there will be
Singles and Pairs competition nights entrance is on pay on the night basis. There will be two separate competitions split between competitions for Division 1 & 2 players and Division 3 & 4 players.
As well as the Loughborough & District Pubs & Clubs Darts League return other leagues are also back in action Including the Leicestershire Darts Super League Mens and Ladies Leagues, plus the Leicestershire County Darts Men and Ladies teams.
The Men’s and Ladies County Super Leagues are played every Saturday (except when the County are in action).
The men’s league consists currently of seven teams and two local teams compete in it. Whitwick are currently top of the table and The Royal Oak from Loughborough are fourth.
The Ladies League consists of six teams. Whitwick White Horse are second and Bardon Hill are fourth.
The county are in Division 2 of the UKDA Darts Corner National League which they usually play once a month. They are currently sixth out of ten in the combined Men’s and Ladies A and B teams Division. The next weekend of matches is November 6 away to Wiltshire.
