Back into Santa suits for festive fun run

-

FUN RUNNING Father Christmases will be back in Loughborough town centre on Sunday, December 5, as they prepare for the start of the 17th annual Santa Fun Run & Walk.

Loughborough Rotary Club organised a very successful “Alternative” Santa Fun Run in 2020, for obvious reasons, but are delighted to be able to host this popular actual event again this year.

More than 40 charities benefit each year, as participants can support one of the headline charities (for 2021 it’s Dementia UK, Loros, Prostaid, Rainbows and the Wellbeing Centre), or one of their own choice.

Several schools have found this to be a great way to generate funds for their own needs, or favourite causes.

The “Santa Paws” competition will also be included again this year, giving dog owners the opportunity to dress their pooches in a festive fashion, and parade them alongside the mascots and the pantomime dame on the stage.

To sign up for the festive fun run and walk, go to www.santa-fun-run. co.uk.

You can collect your Santa suit from the Loughborough Building Society, and join in the fun at 11am on December 5.
