KURLING EVENING. Kurling is back again! The annual Kurling Evening returns on Friday November 12 in The Hall, Normanton on Soar starting at 7pm for 7.30pm. No experience is necessary, families are welcome and the price of £8 includes a fish and chip supper. Tickets will be available for purchase from Monday 18th October. REMEMBRANC­E SUNDAY AT ST JAMES. This year’s Remembranc­e Sunday service at St James Church, Normanton on Soar, will take place at 10.45am on Sunday November 14. The service will be led by Revd Canon Michael Knight. The collection will be for the Royal British Legion and Combat Stress.

LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS. Ashmount Riding for the Disabled Group are looking for volunteers to help out with our horse riding sessions with the children from Loughborou­gh’s Ashmount School. The group rides out at Meadow School of Riding, Stanford Lane, on Fridays from 10am - 12pm during Leicesters­hire school term time. Experience with horses is useful but not necessary as training is provided. If you’d like to get involved, please email wendymlr6@gmail.com.
