Panto and party fun in store at centre this festive season

-

IT WILL soon be panto and party time now a community centre has reopened in time for festive fun.

Mountsorrel Memorial Centre is preparing to welcome back guests to events and shows over the winter season.

It begins on Sunday, December 5, with the Mountsorrel Christmas lights switch-on.

A centre spokesman said: “We’ll have a Christmas Craft Fair, outside entertainment and food stalls. Plus the big man in red, Santa Claus, will be popping by to say hello.”

Days later you can dig out your legwarmers and your fanciest fluorescent headband to join what is billed as the best ‘80s party in town.

On December 10 and 11, We Tried Kylie will be covering dance floor fillers of the ‘80s. Fancy dress is encouraged.

The spokesman said: “From December 16 to 19, panto is back. Join Cinderella and her best friend Buttons. When an invitation to the Winter Ball is sent from Prince Charming, excitement ensues – but will Cinderella make it to the ball?”

The centre will see out the year with a New Year’s Eve party and buffet. To book tickets, go to: mountsorrelmemorialcentre. co.uk
