Swim club returns with 50 medals from event...

LOUGHBOROU­GH Town Swimming Club travelled to Nuneaton over the weekend to take part in the Leicester Sharks Trick n Treat Meet. Over 30 swimmers took part with 50 medals won with 13 gold, 16 Silver and 21 bronze!

Abbie Ruddle (18) won three gold medals in the 100m & 200m butterfly and 100m Individual Medley (IM), two silver (50m freestyle and 50m breaststro­ke) and one bronze in the 200m IM. James Lake (14) won three gold medals (50m butterfly,100 IM and 200m freestyle) and two silver medals (200 IM and 400m freestyle).

Elizabeth Palfrey (13) won five medals during the Meet: 2 gold (200m Backstroke and 400m freestyle) and three silver (50m & 100m Backstroke and 200m IM). 11-year-old Catherine Yates won three silvers in the 50 & 100 freestyle and 50m butterfly.

Finn Reed (14) had a very busy weekend winning medals in all seven events that he raced in: 1 gold (400 IM), 2 silver (50m & 200m breaststro­ke) and 4 bronze (100m, 200m & 400m freestyle and 100m breaststro­ke). Francesca Palfrey (15) made it a one-two for LTSC in the 200m butterfly, taking 2nd place behind Abbie. She also took bronze in the 400IM and 100 fly.

Alfie Molloy (14) swam to silver in the 100 IM and bronze in the 50m butterfly. Tilly Herries (13) won one gold (100m breaststro­ke) and two bronze medals (50m freestyle and 200m breaststro­ke). Niamh Muddimer, also 13, took gold in the 50m breaststro­ke and bronze in the 50m backstroke and 50m freestyle. Millie Goldfinch (11) won bronze medals in the 50m and 100m Backstroke.

Jack Goldfinch (15) won Silver in the 200m Backstroke and Indy Brittain (15) took bronze in the same event. Jasper Ley-Sneyd (15) was third in the 200m breaststro­ke and Navin Sae-Sue (16) finished in the same position in the 100m Individual Medley.

Seth Gardner (10) took part in his first ever Open Meet, winning gold in the 100 IM and 200 back and Silver in the 50m breaststro­ke. Thomas Macmanard (14) won three silvers (100m butterfly & backstroke and 400IM) and one bronze medal (50m breaststro­ke).

Other team members were: Darell Yeoh, Ellie PoultonBur­bank, Erin Harvey, George Larke, Henry Herries, Jacob Blount, Jess Smith, Leo Moechel, Lois Buxton, Matilda Don, Matthew Longman, Oli Pacholec, Toby James, and Willem Muddimer who all put in some fabulous performanc­es and recorded numerous personal best times.

As the club’s younger swimmers headed South to Warwickshi­re the Loughborou­gh Town Swimming Club Masters Team headed north to Sheffield. Elaine Seager won silver in the 400 Individual Medley and also in the 800m freestyle.

She also won Bronze in the 1500m freestyle. Bryony Wilkes took bronze in the 800m freestyle and silver in the 200m Individual Medley. Sarah Brooksbank won bronze in the 50m breaststro­ke.

Adam Wilkes (18/24 age group) finished in bronze position in the 100m Backstroke and Ian Wilkes (50/54 age group) took silver in the same event. Justin Palfrey swam to silver in the 1500m freestyle. Other LTSC swimmers taking part were Bryany Cornish, Felix Ng, Ellen McDonald, Alison Green, Nick White, Matt Crackell and Emily Aust.
