Zeynep is inspired by Captain Tom to get in the saddle
EIGHT year old Zeynep Akkaya from Loughborough was so inspired by Captain Tom’s phenomenal achievement in raising millions for the NHS that she decided on setting her own personal challenge.
Zeynep thought up the idea of riding her bicycle for 1000 laps round the cul-de-sac outside her home. She got sponsorship from all her local neighbours and school teacher. She recently completed her final laps, encouraged to the finish line by family, friends and neighbours, and in so doing has raised over £200 for our local Rainbow’s Hospice.
