Road to close for several days

DRIVERS in Loughborough town centre face extra congestion this month as a road closes for several days.

High Street is to close, heading out of town only, between Baxter Gate and Pinfold Gate, while Cadent Gas installs a new connection.

The works will be in place from November 15 for up to five days.

Ward’s End is also currently closed as the Bedford Square Gateway Project works takes place.

The £2.6 million scheme, to improve the area around Ward’s End, Bedford Square and Devonshire Square, started in February, and is due to be completed by the end of the year.

Pavements are being widened to provide more outdoor seating for shops with new furnishings being added to make the area more attractive.
