MEETINGS OF THE PARISH COUNCIL/COMMITTEES:
expected to be completed by July,2022 and it will open for children in September, 2022.
The one-form entry school will cater for children aged four to 11 years and will open with a class of foundation-aged children, the youngest pupils in the school. Older age groups of children will be added in later years.
Scholars’ Educational Trust was formed in 2013 and it includes the 640-pupil Launde Primary School in Oadby and Glenfield Primary School which has 450 pupils on roll. Launde has been graded “outstanding” by OFSTED since 2011 and Glenfield was rated as “good” in 2017.
Currently there are two primary schools in Castle Donington – St. Edwards Church of England Primary with 199 pupils on roll and Orchard Community Primary with a roll of 265 pupils.
LIBRARY HOURS. New opening hours at Castle Donington Community Library came into operation from November 1. On Mondays the Library is open from 10am until 4pm. On Tuesdays and Wednesdays the library is open from 10am until 2pm.
On Thursdays and Fridays the Library is open from 10am until 4pm. On the first and third Saturday of each month the Library is open from 9.30am until 1.30 pm. ago.”
The next even by the Social Committee is the annual Christmas Fair on December 5.
“We will be asking for your support again please in the form of Helpers. Donations of food and drink to our Christmas hamper raffle, the money from which goes to a local charity and is usually around £500 Any other raffle prizes Tombola prizes (don’t send unwanted items to the charity shop) Cakes and mince pies.”
