Warehouse jobs going at airport freight hub
DHL is looking to fill more than 40 warehousing vacancies at its East Midlands Airport distribution centre – offering salaries of up to £43,000 a year.
The international courier service runs a large freight operation out of the Leicestershire air hub, with one of its largest UK warehouses located nearby.
It is looking for people to join its ranks in a wide range of roles, including warehouse operatives and shift managers.
Employee benefits include flexible working, retail discounts, medical cover and a 25-day holiday entitlement.
The job search website states that full-time warehouse workers at the Castle Donington distribution site earn a minimum of £19,500 a year.
DHL is leasing premises at Segro Logistics Park East Midlands Gateway, in a deal struck last year that will last until 2030.
The firm has said it is looking to create more than 1,000 jobs for people across Leicestershire and the wider East Midlands region in the next few years.
Despite the East Midlands Gateway development yet to be completed, the giant business park is already home to several large names in the logistics world.
They include XPO Logistics, Amazon, Very, Kuehne and Nagel.
The park is situated next to the airport and Junction 23a of the M1. There remain a number of vacant plots which will help to boost the number of jobs at the park towards 7,000 once construction is complete.
It also boasts an onsite rail freight terminal serving the UK’s large sea ports and the Channel Tunnel freight operation.
