Virtual 5k santa dash to take place in December

-

WITH just over a month until Christmas, Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People has launched its Virtual 5K Santa Dash and wants people in Charnwood to sign up.

The charity – which cares for children and young people from across the area with a life-limiting illness – wants to see people ‘dashing through the snow, on a…’ bike, scooter or by foot to take on its Virtual 5K Santa Dash.

Claire Hoggan, Rainbows Events Fundraiser, said: “By getting suited up as Santa and completing your 5K route – whether this is in your back garden, local neighbourhood, park or even around your office, you’ll be helping to spread the festive cheer here at Rainbows. To say “thank you” for your fantastic festive support, when you receive your Santa suits in the post, there will also be a special Rainbows Christmas medal.

“Our Virtual 5K Santa Dash is yours to complete however you want. From biking to scooting, hopping, walking or jogging. It’s also a great way to get your Santa Paws involved too… and to help with the festive feel, we have special dog bandanas available for them to wear, helping them to look the part.”

The event runs between 1 and 20 December and can take place anywhere. Entry is £14.50 for 14 years and older and £6 for 3 – 13-yearolds. A doggy bandana is £2.50 and all include postage.
