Shepshed 7 makes a successful return after pandemic break

SHEPSHED Running club saw the return of their yearly Shepshed 7 earlier this month after last year’s race was cancelled because of the pandemic.

The 7 once again started and finished at Shepshed High School, a tough two lap course taking in the De Lisle estate, which is usually closed to the public. The undulating mixed terrain course saw 334 runners start and was eventually won by Holme Pierrepont’s Oliver Matharu in a time of 39.48. First lady was Abigail Halcarz in 44.25.

Saturday November 13 saw Ian Benskin came in 2nd at the Seagrave challenge a 16ish mile race in a time of 2 hours and 10 mins.

Sunday Novemebr 14 saw the start of the Derby runner cross country season at Holly Hayes. First Male for Shepshed was 26 Gareth Pymm, 69 Phil Higgs, 150 Jonathon Wortley, 177 Stuart Hunter, 182 Stuart Neath. Ladies 11 Emily Muddimer 102 Rachel Muddimer.
