Several upsets in knockout cup

THURSDAY night saw the first round of the Barrow Conservati­ve Club Knockout Cup in the Loughborou­gh and District Pubs and Clubs darts League and there was a few first round upsets.

Barrow Cons Club Discombobu­lated claimed the biggest scalp beating Division 1 side Spot on Waifs and Strays 6-3. The Three Nuns Bluemoon Foxes are unbeaten in Division 2 but they went down 5-4 to Division 3 side Black Swan JS.

Two other second division sides also fell at the first hurdle to lower league opposition The Royal Oak Old Uns beat the Bull and Bush Laughing Boys 5-4 and Riddled with Dartitis Top Railway also lost by the same margin to the Three Nuns Left Footers. Division 4 side Spot on Foxes overcame Division 3 side Generous Briton Beerlegs 5-4.

All the other Division 1 sides progressed. Mick the Flicks Three Crowns were run the closest beating Spot on LSU Sexy and we throw it 5-4. The other teams won by more comfortabl­e margins. Bush Rejects winning their first game of the season 5-0 over Division 3 side Peacock A-Team, Neil Mchugh with a 180.Ring ‘O’ Bells won 7-2 away to Three Nuns Albions with Mitch Gregory claiming two 180’s. The Royal Oak Shooters won 8-1 at the Dewdrop Black Pearls and the Barrow Cons Club Waggs Gang recorded the highest win of the evening 9-0 away to Spot on Guys and Gals. The Bottom Railway BA beat Plough Thorpe Acre 7-2 and the Bull and Bush Lions completed the compliment of Division 1 sides in the next round with a walkover against the Windmill A.

Bull and Bush Counts won the all Division 2 encounter 5-4 against Spot on LSU 26ers and The Crown Shepshed bounced back from their first defeat of the season with a 8-1 win over DivisIon 4 side Three Nuns Bad Habits.

Runaway Division 4 leaders Top Railway Laffables were beaten 5-4 by Division 2 side Windmill Blue Army and Three Crowns Hathern won 7-2 away against the White Hart Stags.

Barrow Cons Convicts lost their all Division 4 tie at home to Hathern Club 6-3 and the only other tie saw Windmill exiles go through with a walkover over the Plough Ernies.

The draw for the next round is at the Spot on Thursday, December 16, ties to be played Thursday January 6. Normal league action returns this Thursday.
