HEAD APPOINTED. Newly-appointed headteacher at Castle Donington’s Foxbridge Primary School which is scheduled to open next year is Mrs. Pamela Bridgwood, who is currently Deputy Headteacher at Desford Community Primary School in Leicestershire.
Mrs. Bridgwood has held a number of leadership roles at Desford School, including being the Early Years Leader as well as the Deputy Head.
According to Miss Inderjit Sandhu, the Chief Executive Officer of the Leicestershirebased Scholars’ Educational Trust which will be running the currently underconstruction new Castle Donington School: “Having worked in education for more than 20 years,
Mrs. Bridgwood brings a wealth of knowledge and she has a proven track record of strong leadership in her roles.”
Mrs. Bridgwood commented: ”I am extremely proud to have been appointed as Headteacher of Foxbridge School. Education and teaching have been passions of mine for more than 20 years. I have extensive experience of teaching and leading in various nursery and primary schools.”
She added:” I am looking forward to working with families and the local community to instill a lifelong love of learning in our school community”
Mrs. Bridgwood will begin work in in January, 2022, well in advance of the school’s opening in September
Miss Sandhu explained:” The January start will allow Mrs. Bridgwood to meet the local community and we can be very optimistic about a strong, stable and successful future for the school.”
Last week Mrs. Bridgwood, along with senior leaders from Scholars’ Trust, met prospective parents and children at a meeting at the Castle Donington Hub.
The 210-pupil school is being constructed on land off Welsted Road near Park Lane in the village in response to an expected demand for new school places stemming from the development of 895 new houses being built in the nearby area.
The development is on an area of land positioned to the west of Castle Donington and north of East Midlands Airport.
On completion the development site will also include employment land and a new single-carriageway Western Relief Road on land
