Long Whatton and Diseworth
CONSULTATION. Residents and community groups from Diseworth were invited to a public consultation meeting last week to see details of a proposed development of “up to 25 dwellings” in the village.
The four-house public consultation event on behalf of the landowner was to consult about the proposed residential development, including starter homes and affordable dwellings on land on Grimesgate in the village.
Responses received at the public consultation will be used by the develop to inform the preparation of a planning application
OAKS SOCIAL COMMITTEE.
THE ACORN LOTTERY CLUB. The Acorn Lottery Club is a fun way to help raise funds for St. James’ the Greater Church, Oaks in Charnwood. We are an Anglican Church serving a rural community stretching from Shepshed to Coalville/ Whitwick. There is a draw on the first Sunday of each month, half the proceeds are given out as prizes: the other half goes to the Oaks PCC. Membership costs £1 per week and the prizes vary according to how many members are on the list. The scheme is registered with North West Leicestershire District Council (NWLDC). CHRISTMAS SERVICES. There are a wide range of services this Christmastide at James’ the Greater Oaks in Charnwood, Oaks Road, LE12 9YD.
CHRISTINGLE SERVICE. A warm welcome awaits all the family on Sunday December 12 at 4 pm with Ordinand Phillippa Taylor and Churchwarden Steve Upton. All children attending will receive a Christingle Orange to take home, this is a magical service and one not to be missed.
CHRISTMAS CAROL SERVICE. Everyone is welcome to this traditional service of readings and carols on Sunday December 19 at 4pm with Rev John Bird.
CHRISTMAS EVE HOLY COMMUNION. Please join us at this special late night communion service on Friday December 24 commencing at 8.30pm with Rev John Bird.
