Second half goals are enough to sink lacklustre Dynamo

NORTHERN PREMIER LEAGUE MIDLANDS DIVISION LOUGOHBOROUGH DYNAMO 0 CAMBRIDGE CITY 2

LOUGHBOROUGH Dynamo slipped to another defeat as they lost 2-0 at home to Cambridge City in the Northern Premier League Midlands Division.

Both teams came into the game struggling for form and with only one win in the month of November between them, both teams were desperate for a win.

Loughborough Dynamo’s starting 11 featured a new but familiar face in Carl Sibson. Sibson is a central defender who started the season at the Moes but he left in September before re-joining the team this week.

There was also a new face on the Dynamo bench. Head Coach Brad Munn signed midfielder Victor Lusuku in the last week and he made his debut off the bench in the second half.

Right from the start, there was very little quality on show with the rain and wind making it difficult for both sides to play much football.

In the first half both Loughborough Dynamo and Cambridge City were only able to create one shot on target apiece with Cambridge City having an early shot from outside the box that was comfortably saved by Ruben Rabstein.

Despite struggling for most of the game, the Moes did have a 10-minute spell in the first half when they should really have gone ahead. Alex Steadman forced an excellent save out of Cambridge City goalkeeper Dan George at point blank range when he had to tip his shot from just outside the six-yard box over the bar.

A few minutes later, striker Courey Grantham was played through oneon-one, but he could only drag his low shot wide of the post.

Apart from that, the first half was very quiet with both teams struggling to manage the conditions and create many chances.

In the second half, Loughborough Dynamo tried to grab a goal and take control of the game. However, despite having the ball in some good areas in and around the box, they just could never quite manage to get a shot away.

In the 56th minute, Cambridge City broke down the left and Mikey Davis was on hand in the six-yard box to tap home.

After conceding, Loughborough Dynamo never looked like getting back into it and Head Coach Brad Munn admitted after the game that his team’s reaction to going behind was disappointing.

Then six minutes before the end, Mikey Davis was on hand again to make it 2-0 to Cambridge City with a low fizzing shot from the right-hand side of the box finding the corner of the Dynamo net.

It was another disappointing performance and result for Dynamo and they will be desperate to stop the rot heading into the festive period.
