-

STUDENTS B extended their lead at the summit of the Loughborough and District Table Tennis League by taking maximum points at Swannington.

There was little with Russell or Adam Pettitt could do to trouble Abhishek Sudhakar and Ridhi Rohit during a one-sided evening.

Sudhakar has been a class above so far this season and took his 100 per cent record to 14 successive singles wins by seeing off both his opponents in straight games.

Rohit has also been in good form all season and now has 11 wins from 14 after another double.

The nearest the Pettitt duo came to getting on the scoresheet was the first doubles which they lost 10-12 10-12 12-10 12-14.

Students A chalked up another victory at Draycott Diamonds but were restricted to four points as they met with more resistance.

Xinging Luo was the player of the night with two singles victories. Tema mate Mahek Namolia got off to a good start by overcoming Inara Ahmed in straight games before being involved in a very tight battle with Anna Green who triumphed 11-6 12-10 8-11 7-11 11-7.

Green and Ahmed also won the night’s other tense set when they won the first doubles 16-14 4-11 11-8 8-11 11-9.

Luo and Namolia then exacted revenge in straight games to ensure Students went home with a 4-2 victory.

The other top flight Draycott side, Dinosaurs, were comfortable 6-0 winners in their mid-table clash with Charnwood Corn.

Malcolm Truman set the tone by winning the first two games of the evening 11-0 and 11-2 and comfortably completed his double over Calvin Cheung and Shan Gao.

David Wong was taken the distance by Gao before coming through 11-8 in the fifth and Viv Rayson played his part in both doubles as Dinosaurs opened up a gap in third spot.
