Primary school choice deadline is fast approaching for parents
PARENTS and careers across Leicestershire are reminded that the closing date is approaching to apply for their child’s first primary school place.
Applications for the autumn 2022 intake need to be made by Saturday, January 15, 2022.
A range of information is available at www.leicestershire.gov.uk/admissions to help families start applying.
This includes the interactive ‘Your Guide’ to education which contains advice and support to help parents and carers apply for a primary school place.
Councillor Deborah Taylor, Leicestershire County Council cabinet member for Children and Families, said: “We are committed to making the application process as interactive and informative as possible for families, so that you can feel supported to make the best choice for you and your child.
“Last year over 98% of Leicestershire families secured their preferred place for primary school by submitting on time. We want to remind parents and carers that they should get their applications to us within plenty of time and apply for gofund.me/f0ce5e7b three schools, including their catchment school.
“There is no automatic entry for school in Leicestershire, so it is vital that applications are submitted before the closing date of Saturday, 15 January.”#
