Cash help for special needs charity’s life changing sessions for children...

A LOUGHBOROU­GH special educationa­l needs charity has received a £1,000 donation from an Amazon fulfilment centre team.

Steps Education Centre, based in Shepshed, supports families with children who have special educationa­l needs. Among its users are young children with cerebral palsy, and chromosome disorders including Down Syndrome and other conditions which affect motor skills.

The donation from the Amazon team will go towards funding the daily sessions that are life changing for children who attend.

Trish Mabbott fund-raiser and operations manager from Steps Centre, added: “On behalf of everyone at Steps Centre, I want to say a big thank you to Zoey and the team from Amazon.

“Donations like this bolster the support we provide and allow us to make a difference in our community.

“The staff team and families are all so very grateful for your support in enabling our work to continue.”

Martin Cox, general manager at Amazon, in Coalville, which made the donation, said: “Steps Education Centre does important work with children and their families in our community, and it’s great to support their efforts with this donation.”

Manager, who nominated Steps Education Centre for donation, said: “I’ve witnessed first-hand the fantastic work Steps Centre does and I’m really pleased that Amazon is making this donation.”

Amazon has teamed up with charity Magic Breakfast and delivering more than five million breakfasts to families around the UK.
