...and student STEM volunteers are boosted by £1,000 donation
A LOUGHBOROUGH University volunteering group has received a £1,000 donation from the Amazon fulfilment centre in Kegworth.
LSU Action is the volunteering section of the Students’ Union, offering students the chance to join volunteering projects, such as helping children to improve their maths skills and running STEM workshops on campus.
The group received the donation as part of Amazon’s programme to support the communities in and around its operating locations across the UK.
Celia Syme, general manager at Amazon in Kegworth, said: “We’re passionate about children’s education, so we’re pleased to support Loughborough Students’ Union Action with this donation - they do great work with children in our community.”
Jodie Evans, chairwoman of LSU Action, wsaid: “I want to say a huge thank you to Amazon Kegworth. Donations like this ensure we can continue to support the educational needs of children in our community.”
