Thieves raid shop on Christmas Day

£2,000 OF DESIGNER CLOTHING STOLEN FROM NEW BOUTIQUE

- By NICK DAWSON News Reporter

A business owner was devastated to discover his shop had been burgled on Christmas Day.

David Fadesco got a call from police on Boxing Day to say that thieves had targeted his store, Off Season Clothing, the night before.

The Loughborough store had only been open for two weeks.

Intruders threw a brick through the front door and smashed security glass to gain access, making off with £2,000 worth of high-end hoodies and shoes.

David said he is reluctant to reopen until the damage is fixed and more security measures are in place.

He said: “It’s set us back because we don’t dare open until the shutters are installed.

“We can’t commit more stock to the building with the risk of it being broken into again.”

He set up the shop with a friend, offering premium footwear, such as Jordans, along with stock from Nike and Adidas and other clothing.

Running the store had been a challenge in the first weeks as Mr Fadesco also works at the town hall, and had been busy helping run the panto performances as a technician.

A police spokesman said: “Officers received a call at 9.30am on Sunday stating there has been a breakin at a store in Market Street, Loughborough.

“It had happened overnight and a number of clothing items were taken.”

If you have any information about the incident, call 101 or visit the Leicestershire Police website.
