Dynamo slip to home defeat despite early lead

-

LOUGHBOROUGH Dynamo couldn’t hold onto a lead for the second game in a row and lost 2-1 at home to Bedworth United writes James Kendrick.

It was a tough start for the Moes as they were forced into two substitutions in the first 20 minutes as defender Danny Gordon picked up an ankle injury and goalkeeper Jay Alexander went off with a shoulder problem.

But for the rest of the half, the Moes were on and were dominating game.

On the 25 minute mark Courey Grantham did well to outmuscle his marker near the corner flag and he played the ball into the box and it eventually fell to Kevin Bastos who made it 1-0 with an excellent finish.

Dynamo did have first top the more chances in the first half to extend their lead through Kevin Bastos and Courey Grantham but they couldn’t find the target with their shots.

Dynamo have struggled in the last few weeks to keep their performance levels up in the second half and this game was no exception.

After the break, Bedworth were dominant and were passing the ball around and the result seemed inevitable.

Dynamo did have two excellent chances in the middle of the half to extent their lead.

First as Kevin Bastos was played through on goal but he took his shot early from the edge of the area and it went high over the bar.

Then Dan Collins shot from the centre box that hit the post.

It took just 60 seconds from Dan Collins shot hitting the post to Luke Keen equalising at the other end for Bedworth. Rabstein did well to make a had a of the smart stop in goal but could only push the ball out to Keen who made it 1-1.

After that there was only going to be one winner and that was Bedworth.

And the winner came with 12 minutes to go when a defensive mix up left Luke Keen to pounce and make it 2-1 to Bedworth.

It’s a result the Moes will be extremely disappointed with and will be hoping to bounce back at home to Carlton on Saturday.
