PITCHING IN NORTHERN PREMIER LEAGUE MIDLAND DIVISION LOUGHBOROUGH

DYNAMO 0 CHASETOWN 2 LOUGHBOROUGH Dynamo lost 2-0 at home to Chasetown in a disappointing performance writes James Kendrick.

It was always going to be a difficult game against a side towards the top of the league and who are harbouring ambitions of being top of the pile at the end of the season.

Loughborough were defensively solid for large periods of the game but struggled to offer much of an attacking threat and despite breaking and getting the ball in the box regularly they didn’t muster a shot on target all game.

Right from the first whistle Chasetown looked to dominate the game and most of the football was played in Loughborough’s half.

Jack Langston who has scored 11 goals in his last nine games before the game with Loughborough was particularly threatening and came close early on when his powerful strike crashed off the post after taking a deflection.

Langston did eventually open the scoring just before the half hour mark when he was found in acres of space on the edge of the box and his powerful shot was unstoppable and made it 1-0.

Dynamo goalkeeper Ruben Rabstein had to pull off a number of great saves during the game and without him the score could have been higher.

The second half followed the same pattern as the first despite Dynamo Head Coach Brad Munn changing formation at half time.

Chasetown pushed forward as they looked to extend their lead and their second goal came on the 74th minute when Joey Butlin was unmarked at the back post and had a free header to make it 2-0.

It’s been a tough start to 2022 for Loughborough Dynamo and they’ve got some big games coming up in the rest of the month including visits to the other two teams in the top three with Chasetown.
